About Us
A Checkered Past opened September 13, 2009. We are a partnership of three long time Verde Valley residents with many years of experience in the field of antiques. Pat Tuthill formerly operated an antique shop in McGuireville and has had spaces in several other local shops. Sharon Smoot owned an antique mall in Glendale, Az. before coming to the Verde Valley 13 years ago. Peg Sarkisian has been an antique dealer for many years and has a successful estate sale business. Peg is also a certified appraiser.
Our store is a multi-dealer mall with 16 dealers so our selections are varied - find the qwirky, the rustic, the elegant and the unusual!
Our slogan is "Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold, Come on In, Before it's Sold!"
